| RICE TECHNICAL REPORT
Treatment for Rice Crops
AGROBLITZ is the most
vital micronutrient Fertilizer contributing to overall plant growth and performance.
In addition, zinc serves as one of the important micronutrients assisting the
plant in achieving its maximum growth potential.
According
to the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations), the soil
in many rice growing areas is deficient in zinc. In sandy, calcareous, sodic,
high pH, and high water table soils, zinc deficiency is especially prevalent
and can cause up to 30% yield loss in rice crops.
AGROBLITZ is specially
designed to counteract any zinc deficiencies in the soil. The Zinc in AGROBLITZ is chelated to facilitate
easy uptake of zinc by the plant roots and to reduce losses due to leaching. AGROBLITZ contains various natural
plant stimulants for better and vigorous plant growth and quick root setting of
the transplanted seedling.
AGROBLITZ
is a safe product and its usage has no harmful effects on plants, animals and
the environment.
HOW IT WORKS:
- AGROBLITZ works in several areas of the plant, one of which is the roots. It
promotes root development by increasing root branching and the addition of
the number of hairs, ultimately increasing the surface area of the roots,
leading to more efficient nutrient uptake.
- AGROBLITZ increases the permeability of the root membrane, thereby enhancing
nutrient uptake as well. The application of AGROBLITZ will significantly increase the concentration of nitrogen, phosphorus,
potassium, calcium, magnesium, copper, iron, manganese and zinc in both
the shoots and roots. Plant growth will be influenced by increased
absorption of ions, and by facilitating the distribution of heavy metals
as chelates within the plant body, thereby affecting metabolic reactions.
- One of the ingredients of AGROBLITZ contains structures that act like hormones. These structures
facilitate the translocation of nutrients throughout the plant, and by combining
them with metal ions they become more soluble and available to the plant
roots.
- AGROBLITZ regulates photosynthetic activity by increasing chlorophyll content
within the leaves and by increasing the uptake of phosphorus, both vital
components of ATP (Adenosine-5’-triphosphate), the molecular “unit of
currency” of intercellular energy transfer.
Zinc is required in small but critical concentrations
to allow several key plant physiological pathways to function properly. These
pathways play important roles in photosynthesis, in sugar formation, the
introduction of proteins, nucleic acid synthesis, fertility, seed production
and growth.
- Zinc provides defense against disease. Where zinc is deficient, the
physiological functions will be impaired and the health and productivity
of the plants will be adversely affected, resulting in lower yields, poor
quality crops, or even crop failure. AGROBLITZ will provide zinc in EDTA (polyamino carboxylic acid) form which is
easy to uptake and will cure any prior zinc deficiency symptoms in the
plant. AGROBLITZ as formulated releases zinc slowly to avoid further development of zinc
deficiency symptoms. It will also increase the final yield (seed
production) by increasing the fertility of the spikelets.
WHEN TO USE:
- AGROBLITZ is
formulated to meet the zinc requirement of rice crops at different stages.
As zinc deficiency in rice can appear during the early developmental
stages of the plant, we recommend that you apply the first AGROBLITZ treatment just before
transplanting, or at the nursery stage.
- The second
AGROBLITZ treatment can be
applied 10 days after transplanting as a foliar spray. The final
application can be applied 30 days after the second treatment.
HOW TO USE:
- Pre-treatment of seeds: assuming
8kg of seed per acre – mix 2ml of AGROBLITZ
to 1 liter of water – drench the seeds in the solution, remove seeds
and let dry in the shade.
- Seedling Treatment: When
seedling reaches 6cm (2.5in) in height mix 140ml of AGROBLITZ
to 40 liters of water (3.5ml/L). A metal, plastic or concrete tank can be
used for mixing purposes. Partially fill the tank with clean water and
then add the 140ml of AGROBLITZ
to the tank. Fill the tank until you reach 40 liters of final solution and
mix well to make sure AGROBLITZ
is evenly distributed throughout the solution. Place enough rice seedlings
for 1 acre of planting into the prepared solution and leave them in the
solution for a minimum of 3-4 hours prior to transplanting.
- Foliar Applications: We
recommend two foliar applications to gain the maximum benefit from AGROBLITZ. Apply the first
application 10 days after transplanting and the final application 30 days
after first application. Mix 420ml of AGROBLITZ
to 120 liters of clean water (3.5ml/L). This volume is sufficient to cover
one acre of rice field. Hand, boom or power sprayers can be used for
spraying.
- If you
are planning to mix AGROBLITZ with
pesticide mixtures, we recommend doing a compatibility test prior to
mixing. In order to conduct a compatibility test, take one liter of water
in a beaker and add the recommended dose of AGROBLITZ. Next prepare your pesticide mix in the same manner
and mix both solutions together. Wait at least one hour, and, if there is
any precipitate at the bottom, or any change in color of the solution,
then this indicates that there is a reaction between the two products and
you should not mix AGROBLITZ and
your pesticide together.
- Spray
early morning or late afternoon when the temperature is low, making sure
there is no dew on leaves as this will wash away or dilute the fertilizer
solution.
- Allow
3-4 hour drying period to improve the absorption of AGROBLITZ
